Clinical and Forensic Psychology students.
  • Only students enrolled in a Ph.D or a PsyD program can apply

Take first years, but need to have assessment and basic interviewing skills, Rorschach: Exner system or R-PAS

Preferred level of readiness(any prior experiences preferred for applicants):

completion of one year of assessment courses at the start of the externship

We are unable to interview every applicant. Only selected applicants will be contacted for an interview. The interview involves interpreting psychological test protocals.

No intervention training experience is offered. Offers lectures on psychiatric Interviewing, personality assessment and suicide and violence risk assessment

Expected number of full assessment batteries completed during externship (defined as administration of a battery of standardized tests):

Expect at least 1 a week

Expected number of assessment reports completed during externship (defined as writing reports based on a battery of standardized tests:

1 per week. Teach how to write brief and to the point reports to answer the referral question

Supervision:

Estimated hours/week of individual supervision: depends on # pf assessment. Could be up to 3 hours based on number of cases.
