General Information

Start Date: Beginning of September (typically Monday after Labor Day)
End Date: End of June

20 hours per week (two 8-hour days, one 4-hour day)

3rd and 4th year students preferred, with suitable prior educational and practicum experiences
NB: Preference for Inpatient positions will be given to 4th year students

Preferred level of readiness(any prior experiences preferred for applicants):

Experience with projective techniques, including Rorschach and TAT, required

  • Completion of Externship training at NYCCC-Queens has no impact on students’ chances of completing a doctoral Internship at this site.
  • NYCCC-Queens does not interview for Externship students who are applying for Internship concurrent with their application for Externship.
  • As of February 1, 2017, we are no longer accepting applications for the 2017-2018 training year.
