Scheduling (e.g., required/optional days of week, # hrs per day, total hours per week, flexibility in scheduling):

Trainees are required to commit at least two days per week (16 hours). There are two training sites, and scheduling is site dependent. Either Tuesday or Thursday is required for attendance at our Neuropsychology Division didactics, held at the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center in Manhattan (transportation provided).

Required level of readiness (any prior experiences or level of training required for applicants):

This is an advanced placement. Candidates best suited for this externship will have completed assessment and neuropsychology coursework, as well as two years of practicum with at least one of those years in neuropsychology.

Description of Externship

  • Advanced neuropsychology training experience with emphasis on neurobehavioral syndromes and neuroanatomy. Students will conduct neuropsychological consultations and assessments with inpatients and outpatients diagnosed with a wide array of medical, neurologic, and psychiatric conditions. NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn serves a highly diverse patient population drawn from the Brooklyn community and larger NYC area.
