Scheduling (e.g., required/optional days of week, # hrs per day, total hours per week, flexibility in scheduling):

This externship requires a commitment of approximately 16 hours/week,time is divided between individual/group counseling, attending medication review, team meetings and assessment. With regard to clinical work, externs will work with a diverse group of adolescents ages 10 to 21 years who have been diagnosed with mild mental retardation/severe learning disabilities and a serious mental illness. There will be 2 supervision hours/week, to be scheduled at the convenience of extern and supervisor. Externs are expected to see a minimum of 2-3 individual cases which can change throughout the duration of externship. In addition, externs will at any given time run a minimum of one group, which will be reflective of both the extern's interest and client need. Ample testing opportunities are available.
