CUNY- Student Counseling Services - Wellness Center - CUNY Graduate Center

Provide description of Externship:  The Student Counseling Service at the GC Wellness Center offers counseling to the 4,000 doctoral and masters students at the CUNY Graduate Center.  Externs provide short-term psychotherapy -- 12 sessions of psychodynamic/CBT/integrative therapy to  individuals and couples -- as well as group therapy, academic consultations, and outreach seminars, during our year-long, 15 hour per week externship. Training is a major goal of our Center. We provide 2 hours per week of supervision and a weekly 2.5 hour didactic and case presentation meeting that focuses on short-term dynamic therapy and CBT, as well as other relevant topics (mandatory, held Fridays 10:00 -12:30).
