Provide description of Externship:
The purpose of a Psychology Externship at SCO Family of Services Madonna Heights Group Residence is to provide qualified psychology graduate students with a rich variety of supervised clinical experiences in a residential setting to support the students growth into a professional psychologist. When you join the community at the Madonna Heights Group Residence you will be exposed and trained in a trauma-informed treatment model to best meet the needs of our clients and their families. Our externship requires a minimum of 16 hours a week and the extern must be able to work Tuesdays 12-8.
Your time is divided between:
Conducting psychological evaluations (including administration, report writing, feedback to team, and to resident and possibly parent); collaborative work with multidisciplinary team and resident to develop residents' individual crisis management plan/safety plan; Participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment meetings; Participate in diagnostic and treatment planning meetings; Participate in comprehensive treatment plan reviews; Weekly individual supervision; 1 hour biweekly group supervision
