Provide description of Externship:

Mount Sinai St. Luke's is offering a psychology externship experience for doctoral students in its' Comprehensive Adolescent Rehabilitation and Education Service (CARES).  CARES is a collaboration of the New York City Department of Education and the Hospital Center.  It provides high school students suffering from psychiatric difficulties and/or substance abuse issues with the opportunity to work toward a Regents or General Equivalency diploma while receiving intensive group and individual psychotherapy, as well as psychopharmacological treatment. The externship provides training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and substance abuse treatment in a fast-paced but highly supportive milieu setting.  Trainees participate in all aspects of the therapeutic community, carry individual cases and co-lead groups.
