Mount Sinai- St. Luke's Hospital Adult Outpatient Clinic & Psychiatric Recovery Center

Provide description of Externship:

The Mount Sinai St. Luke's Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic/Psychiatric Recovery Center externship offers training within two multidisciplinary clinics housed with an academic medical center setting. These clinics serve patient populations diverse in terms of psychopathology, gender identity, sexual identity, race and ethnicity, and SES. Trainees see patients individually in both our psychiatric recovery center, which is a wellness and recovery based program for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, and in our general adult psychiatric outpatient clinic, which exposes trainees to working with mood and anxiety disorders, personality pathology, and various other forms of psychopathology. Other training experiences include grand rounds and didactics, psychological assessment opportunities (though not required or guaranteed), and the option opportunity to participate in research being done in our clinics. Thursday availability required; Recommended second day Wednesday, though this is negotiable,
