New York-Presbyterian - Westchester Division Track 5: Adolescent Inpatient Track (with anxiety and related disorders emphasis)

Overview:

New York Presbyterian Hospital--Westchester Division is offering an externship track focused on the delivery of CBT and DBT for adolescents. Each externship day, externs will attend interdisciplinary team meetings on the units, co-lead CBT and/or DBT therapy groups, and meet with individual patients for brief psychotherapy interventions. Together with their faculty mentors (EA and/or MHF), externs will develop a training plan that is tailored to their learning goals.

Externs will also be involved in providing exposure and response prevention treatment to patients on a specialty adolescent obsessive compulsive disorder track.

All clinical activities are intensively supervised by a licensed psychologist.

Externs are encouraged to attend didactic seminars available on their scheduled training days which include Psychiatry Grand Rounds (Tuesdays), Writing Seminar (Tuesdays), CBT and DBT seminar and Psychology Grand Rounds (Thursdays), child and adolescent inpatient case conference (Fridays), child outpatient didactics (didactic offered twice a week on Mondays & Fridays).
