Provide description of Externship:
The North Central Bronx Hospital Externship requires a commitment of 20 hours/week for 8 months from the beginning of September through the end of May. Students are required to be on site 2.5 days, with Friday until 2pm mandatory for all externs. It is preferred that another full day be either a Tuesday or a Thursday in order to participate in inpatient treatment team meetings.

Minimum level of readiness (any prior experiences or level of training required for applicants: To qualify for application, a student must have completed at least two years of clinical and psychodiagnostic assessment courses. Students must also submit written permission from their Training Directors to apply for a 20 hour/week externship. It is understood that the school will provide a fieldwork supervisor who is resposible for ongoing communication and liason with NCBH.
Preferences: We wlcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds and orientations. No prior inpatient experience is necessary; however, externs are expected to have basic mastery of establishing therapeutic alliance, conducting therapy sessions, and writing clear clinical notes.

Intervention and Assessment:
