Counseling Center Externs will participate as graduate clinicians at the college's on-campus counseling center. Trainees will be assigned a clinical caseload for individual counseling and will have potential for co-leadership in groups. Outreach, consultation, and supervision of undergraduate interns may be part of the Extern's responsibilities.

Exceptions may be made for first placement applicants with experience in mental health counseling jobs or graduate training settings in which individual and/or group counseling has been supervised.

Clients will be assigned following Orientation and observation of trainee's counseling skills. Trainees typically maintain a caseload of 8 - 15 clients. The PCCC offers short term individual counseling and several groups. Trainees may retain a few students in their individual case loads for longer term care over the course of the year.
