Our developmental training approach is designed to prepare graduate students in the field of psychology with a broad-based training experience and a thorough understanding of the role of the counseling center within a university/college setting. Practicum students are involved in all CAPS activities and provide a variety of mental health services to a diverse community of students who exhibit a wide range of clinical presentations.

Interviews will be conducted throughout the month of February 2019.
Interview process (provide information about interview process- time frame, how decisions are made) Also, do you conduct individual and/or group interviews; case presentation, other information?: Candidates for interviews will be chosen after a thorough review of all application materials. Candidates will meet for a group interview with our clinical team and will have an opportunity to speak with current externs to ask questions about their training experiences with us.

- Official transcript of graduate work, including courses currently underway
- Letter of approval from the graduate program verifying readiness for the externship placement

Intervention and Assessment:
Intervention training experiences offered:
- intake assessments
- individual counseling/psychotherapy
- group counseling/psychotherapy
- planning and conducting psycho-educational prevention outreach activities to the campus community
